Dear sisters in Christ,

Greetings to you. May our love towards Christ and towards one another increase. I want to draw out an insight from a well known story of Jesus being anointed by a sinful woman (Luke chapter 7, verses 36-50). Jesus concludes that the woman had been forgiven much, hence the expression of her love. We also hear of another parable where a man is forgiven of his debt and he goes out and demands debt from another man who owed him a much smaller amount. Apparently the man who was forgiven of his great debt could not forgive another man who owed him a small debt. This is because he never really understood the forgiveness bestowed on him.

How many times have we ourselves never understood the forgiveness bestowed on us by Jesus? Instead we try to earn this forgiveness through our good works.

Not many of us would find ourself in the position of the adulteress caught red handed and ready to be stoned. But the woman knew that death awaited her, and she knew that it was lawful to be stoned. With Jesus’ words of “no condemnation” a new power of love unlike ever before was released in her.

Dears, unless we really understand the forgiveness in Christ we can never really love Him with all our strength. Or even love others as Christ expects.

Hebrews chapter 10 verse 22 (MSG Version) states this about entering His Most Holy place “So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out.”

I love the phrasing “presentable inside and out” Outside yes, I can dress fine, carry my bible and pray publicly, but inside? But the verse states that I am presentable to the Most High from inside as well! God has a better opinion and image of us, then we ourselves do!

Those who are forgiven much, love much. I would like to end with a question, Can you accept Christ’s total forgiveness for yourself?
